Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge resides next to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. The Lodge’s design is based on the Kraal African village design. Three separate buildings make up the Lodge, and each has its own private animal savanna. Many of the rooms have views of over 100 grazing animals and 130 birds from the rooms’ private balconies. Each room is provided with a guide outlining animal viewing details, and guests without the savanna views can easily access the various viewing areas around the Lodge’s common areas and lobby. In the evening, the savannas are lighted up with lovely artificial moonlight. There are two pools at the Lodge. The Uzima Pool covers 11,000 square feet and includes a slide that is 67 feet long. Around Uzima Pool are a wading pool and two hot tubs. The other pool, Samawati Springs, has a 128 feet long slide and two hot tubs. The Animal Kingdom Lodge also boasts a playground, a children’s activity center, a fitness center, an arcade, and a jogging trail. Rooms are decorated in rich jewel tones and are available with two queen-sized beds, a queen-sized bed with bunk beds, or a king sized bed and a day bed.
