  • Travel Safe When Visiting Mexico

As travel professionals and marketers of travel tours sure we want to see as many people go on vacation as possible. We want to offer people the experiences of a lifetime and have them come back again and again to try new places. That being said, we are a company of conscience and when issues that are serious become life or death, regardless of the minor short term problems to the bottom line, we feel as a matter of policy that it’s our duty to protect our customers.

If you don’t already know, there have been many articles and news posts about threats that are being made against United States citizens traveling in Mexico and the warning is coming directly from the US Department of State. The following is a summary of precautions that the State Department have offered if you are planning to travel to Mexico.

First, the State Department wants every one to know that although a level of violence has been reported relatively speaking compared to the millions of travelers the number is very low. Second, the advice is to use common sense. During night time hours, just visit well lit, well attended, commercial businesses in the areas you are staying. Yes, this means stay away from the infamous “red light” districts and areas of illegal gambling. I know for many doing so cuts out some of the “rush” you want to enjoy but given the recent events caution is the better part of valor right now.

Most of the violence against US Citizens has actually been reported near areas that border the US, although caution should be exercised no matter what areas you may be. Last it is advised that if you are traveling to Mexico to be fully aware of where the US Embassy offices are located and have their phone numbers handy at all times.

We at Reserve Vacations in no way want to alarm anyone, but we also want you all to be safe so you can continue to enjoy your lives and your vacations for many years to come.

  • If any of you are in your late 30’s and older, and are male, I’m sure you can recall a few movies that may be burned into the brains of your consciousness forever. Actually, you probably recall the actress. Just to leave the suspense a little further, the movies I refer to have the titles of “9 to 5″ and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”. Does the actress from these movies ring a bell. How about Dolly Parton.

Well Miss Dolly and her form fitting physique have come a long way from those days. One might even say that she is a brand unto herself, and you know what she is. Dolly Parton some years ago put together a vision that became real in the form of Dollywood. A theme park with multiple locations, but the vision was that of a fun, wholesome family experience. One of the great events at Dollywood is most definitely the Dixie Stampede. A dinner show of fun, guns and high flying excitement. From rassling horses to comic relief, this show is a classic to be enjoyed by everyone.

Well Reserve Vacations has two vacation packages that offer tickets to this great show and you have a choice of two great destinations to enjoy.

The first is is in Pigeon Forge, where you get a great vacation package for 3 Days and 2 nights with accommodations at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Pigeon Forge plus two tickets to the famed Dixie Stampede Pigeon Forge

The second takes you to Branson Missouri, where a great vacation package coined the Branson Shown Stopper Vacation Package offers great accommodations at the Rodeway Inn Branson plus two tickets to the Dixie Stampede Branson Show. The sum total on this package….$139 !!!

So get a little bit of old fashion Dixie and wholesome family fun with a vacation package that includes the show Dixie Stampede.

Yes your eyes are not deceiving you. The title of this blog post is as it reads. Branson Missouri was recently named, by an independent organization made up of travel professionals, the American Society of Travel Agents, as the top destination to visit for a vacation that will not “break the proverbial bank”.  The report cited the specific reasons for this recognition and they are, the high number of senior discount travel packages, or better stated, packages geared towards senior citizens, the relative central locality of it to almost all of the United States, the ease of access for driving, making it affordable to travel to and from and the relative number of attractions.

All in all versus almost every other major destination Branson is a gold mine of value. The city is overflowing with entertainment and shows, it offers a diverse number of alternative attractions, and accommodations, relative to other large destination resorts, are much cheaper. The reality is, there should be no surprise that Branson is now being heralded for it’s superior value as a destination resort and city.

Reserve Vacations offers several vacation packages for Branson. Packages vary in prices from $99 to $429 but that value is incredible. The Branson Family Fun Package offers 4 days and 3 nights at the 1st Inn Branson and includes 2 tickets to the Silver Dollar City attraction all for $199. Another great Branson Vacation Package is the Branson Grand Weekend Vacation Package. This comes with accommodations for 3 days and 2 nights at the Thousand Hills Golf Resort, but also includes two tickets to Silver Dollar City and two tickets to the famed Dixie Stampede. The total price for this package is $429.

As you can see Branson is a hot destination resort and the time is right for great budget prices and rates to visit today.

Much has been written and spoken about the world class golf that you can find in the Myrtle Beach South Carolina area. To some it has actually been coined as a “golfers heaven” having over 100 golf courses and golf clubs to choose from in the overall area. There are great golf courses for beginners and also professional golf courses made by experts in the field. So much to choose from so little time.

Golf took it’s foot hold in the Myrtle Beach area with the creation of the Pine Lakes Country Club in the 1920’s. Now if you ever had an image of a grand old golf course Pine Lakes is it. You had the Rockefeller’s and the Vanderbilt’s mixing together, and also some of the greatest golf legends to ever grace a green or fairway in Sam Snead or Gene Sarazen.

From that moment on it just seemed like Golf Flu had stricken the area. Golf course after golf course propped up. A major amount were developed in the 1950’s through the 1970’s although development hasn’t really stopped.

Reserve Vacations offers one great Myrtle Beach Golf Vacation Package at the Golf Colony Resort at Surfside Beach. For $189 you get 4 Days and 3 nights at the resort, with full use of the course, plus two $25 certificates to the Outback Steak House.

So get yourself into a Myrtle Beach Golf Course today and enjoy all you can with these great discounts.

Old man winter is still biting the proverbial nose of many that live in the northern sections of the United States. Sure there have been some lulls in the ice and cold, but overall the wind is blowing and the cold is very cold with a high degree of what some call a “wintery mix”. Some kind of in between cold precipitation that isn’t quite snow, which is at least pretty, and it isn’t quite rain, which is found in warmer temperature. It just hurts and makes the ground freeze.

So what is the proper way to handle all of this? How about a vacation to a tropical paradise? Sure simple enough, but isn’t life’s problems usually a simple solution away. Where to start?

The first place on our list would have to be Orlando Florida. Sure this is a destination that may not be considered “tropical” because of it’s location in the central inland of the state, but trust us, there is a lot of fun in the sun. A second suggestion would have to be Cancun Mexico. Cancun is known as one of the hottest party spots on the planet. The resorts that make up the “scene” in and around Cancun are famous for all-inclusive vacation packages. These are packages that include the root to the fruit….airfare, accommodations, all your meals and drinks, just bring yourself. If that’s not enough why not Acapulco Mexico. This fabulous location is a little more upscale than Cancun and if you have the means to pay for the packages there you get a whole lot more for your money.

There are literally 100’s of great locations to think about when the phrase “tropical vacations” comes to mind. The internet is being barraged with bargains, discounts and budget offers for every type of name you can think of from Bermuda, to Hawaii, to Bora Bora. The down economy is forcing many of these providers to lower prices and rates so there are plenty of bargains out there for a great Tropical Vacation.

    Orlando Vacations on the Cheap

Screw the economic down turn !!! Did you all hear me !!! I’LL SAY IT LOUDER THAN !!! SCREW THE ECONOMIC DOWN TURN !!!  We’re Americans !!! We’re fighters and believers in a life better than the drudgery that others in the world are forced to deal with day in and day out. Quoting from a movie I just love, and giving the proper acknowledgement and citations it’s from the motion picture “Stripes”..”We’re Americans…We’ve been kicking ass for over 200 years…”…We’ll with the sentiment I agree.

Sure money is tight, there is no doubt about it. Yet, this post is about finding the fun in life while we can. That’s why I chose the destination of Orlando to feature for a great vacation. I know maybe it’s kind of random, but back in 2001 and right after 9/11 a close friend of the family had a vacation planned to Disney World. When I found out I implored him to not go, saying we’re in a state of emergency. His retort, “If I do that haven’t the terrorists won already”…I was floored. Well I say the same applies now and today. Our enemy is much harder to define and pinpoint, but if I must, I’d say it is despair.  How does one defeat despair? Very simple. Get up and fight and swing and go out and enjoy life. Breathe it all in and enjoy it with the ones you love.

An Orlando Vacation offers so much for so many. Yeah, sure it has Disney World and Universal Studios Florida Escape theme parks, but that’s just the tip of the ice berg. The Orlando Florida area is filled with world class golf courses, award winning restaurants, and world renowned cultural venues. Reserve Vacations offers an amazing number of great vacation packages for a trip to Orlando, that come with discounted accommodations and additional premiums such as complimentary day passes to the top attractions in the area. Great properties include the Silver Lakes Resort, the Holiday Inn Express Kissimmee, and the Legacy Dunes Resort. Check out the complete list of Orlando Hotels by checking out the Orlando page on Reserve Vacations.

So get off the couch and get off the proverbial sideline. Don’t let life pass you by and book an Orlando Vacation Today.

    Las Vegas Casino Vacations

The casinos in Las Vegas are dealing with a terribly declining economy as is much of the world. To many, some may say, why even spend money on a trip to the casinos with such uncertainty in the market place? For whatever reason the casino industry in general has some special staying power. No doubt a lot of it probably has to do with the fact, whether, people in the casino industry like it or not, that gaming is a vice. There are 1000’s of studies that point to the fact this conclusion is far from being in question.

Today, Las Vegas Casino revenue and win is about 10% down from last year, which in fact started a downward trend in the economics of the casinos in Vegas. So things aren’t good. Add in the fact that there is also a 4% decline in the number of people that have visited Las Vegas over last year and you can see the troubling trend.

To combat this fact many of the casinos are offering major reductions in the pricing of their rooms. This is a 180 degree change from what was “business as usual” for casinos. That is, casinos in Las Vegas would price their packages very cheap, offering almost break even pricing on entertainment and food and beverage, but make it up on the price of the room. That most likely is that rooms are fixed. You can always buy more food and drink. Today, rates have dropped almost 50% where you’ll find daily rooms anywhere from staggering $25 up to $100 and these are for good rooms.

Reserve Vacations is offering several Las Vegas Casino Vacation Packages that are really worth taking a look.  The two properties that RVI offers these vacations are the Hilton Garden Inn Las Vegas and the Cancun Resort Las Vegas. Check them both out as each are priced between $99 to $150 for standard vacations.
